Post-Quik Fest Celebrations Continue in France
The Quiksilver Festival in France's Basque Country has transitioned into ongoing celebrations as favorable surfing conditions persist. The festival, which has evolved from the former Quik Pro France, featured a mix of music, art, and surfing over ten days in Capbreton, Hossegor, and Seignosse.
This year's event was marked by exceptional waves, providing opportunities for both festival-goers and locals to surf. Local filmmaker David Berthet noted that the sandbanks produced impressive hollow waves, resembling slabs despite being beachbreaks.
Even after the festival concluded, many surfers remained in the area to take advantage of the continued good conditions. On October 2, several well-known surfers, including Jérémy Florès and Michel Bourez, were spotted enjoying the waves in Hossegor, highlighting the ongoing appeal of the region's surf scene.
