Hill, previously a head coach at Weber State, now serves as Michigan's defensive coordinator, where a standout season could elevate his candidacy.

Kinne, who has led Texas State to bowl games, is also a contender, especially given his connections in Texas and Oklahoma. Lewis, despite a less impressive record, has shown his ability to turn programs around, recently leading San Diego State to a strong season.
