Potential Trade Between Lions and Colts Involves DeForest Buckner and Charvarius Ward
The Detroit Lions are considering a potential trade with the Indianapolis Colts for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and cornerback Charvarius Ward. Although the Lions have a strong interior defensive line, Buckner could be available as the Colts begin to sell players.
Despite Buckner's impressive past as a former All-Pro, he is now 32 years old and may not be a priority for the Lions, who already have standout players like Alim McNeill and Tyleik Williams. However, the trade simulator suggests that acquiring Buckner could be relatively inexpensive, requiring only a fifth- and sixth-round pick from Detroit.
In addition to Buckner, the Lions could also inquire about Charvarius Ward, proposing a package that includes multiple draft picks. While the need for Buckner is questionable, adding both players could strengthen the Lions' defense and prevent rivals from acquiring them. The Colts have already begun trading players, indicating they may be open to further deals.
