Praggnanandhaa Advances to Grand Chess Tour Final with 19-9 Victory

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa has reached the final of the Grand Chess Tour after a decisive 19-9 win over Germany's Vincent Keymer. This victory took place during the last leg of the tournament.

Praggnanandhaa entered the final day with a six-point lead, having won the second Classical game against Keymer. He continued to dominate in the shorter formats, winning both Rapid games to extend his lead to 17-3. A victory in the opening Blitz game brought his total to 19 points, securing his place in the final.

Despite Keymer's late comeback, winning the last three Blitz games, the outcome was already determined. Praggnanandhaa will now face Fabiano Caruana, the defending champion from the USA, who defeated Wesley So 18-9 in the other semifinal. The Grand Chess Tour finale features a total prize pool of USD 450,000, with USD 200,000 awarded to the winner.
