Preliminary Hearings Begin for Alleged Drug Trafficking Case Involving Penn State Students
The preliminary hearings for a drug trafficking case involving three off-campus fraternity houses at Penn State are scheduled to commence on September 2. Four current or former students are expected to appear, while others will attend hearings on October 14.
The hearings will assess whether there is sufficient evidence for the Commonwealth to proceed against each defendant. Among those appearing, Abbatiello faces 11 felony charges, including conspiracy and drug-related offenses, with potential sentences reaching 20 years for first-degree felonies. Thomas Robinson is charged with 21 felonies and 10 misdemeanors, while Paul Robinson faces charges for hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence.
Other defendants include Mohammed Huraibi and Robert Zanolla, both facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to drug trafficking. Larz Zeepvat has waived his arraignment and plans to plead not guilty, with his arraignment set for September 9.
