Brentford had taken the lead in the 70th minute through Kevin Schade, whose shot deflected off Jaka Bijol. Despite Brentford's control in the second half, Leeds responded with a cross from Wilfried Gnonto that Calvert-Lewin converted with a header.
In another match, Sunderland achieved their first win of the season at the Stadium of Light, defeating Fulham 1-0. Wilson Isidor, who came off the bench, scored the decisive goal, providing a much-needed victory for Sunderland after their opening loss.
