Premier League Panel Supports Gravenberch's Red Card Against Man City
The Premier League's Key Match Incidents Panel has affirmed the red card given to Ryan Gravenberch of Liverpool during the match against Manchester City.
Gravenberch was sent off by referee Chris Kavanagh after receiving two yellow cards, the first for a foul on Elliot Anderson in the 47th minute, and the second in the 62nd minute for a tackle on Jeremy Doku. At the time of the red card, the match was still scoreless, and Manchester City ultimately won 3-0.
The panel evaluated both yellow cards and voted 4:1 in favor of the referee's decisions, with only one member suggesting that the first foul should not have warranted a yellow card. The video assistant referee had the option to review the second yellow card but chose not to intervene, a decision unanimously supported by the panel.
