
Priester and Philipp Triumph at IRONMAN 70.3 Zell Am See
The IRONMAN 70.3 Pro Series event in Zell Am See, Austria, saw Lasse Nygaard Priester and Laura Philipp emerge as champions. The race, held in the scenic Austrian Alps, featured intense competition among top triathletes, including IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion Jelle Geens and Laura Philipp, who had recently won at IRONMAN Kalmar.
The men's race began with a calm swim in Lake Zell, where a group of seven led the pack. Tjebbe Kaindl of Austria completed the swim in 23:07, leading into the transition. Priester and Geens quickly established a lead during the bike segment, with Priester ultimately breaking away to win with a time of 2:43:29, setting a new course record.
In the women's race, Rani Škrabanja took an early lead, but Laura Philipp and Lisa Perterer stayed close behind. Philipp, who excelled in the swim, maintained her advantage throughout the bike and run segments, finishing with a time that secured her victory by over five minutes. Perterer claimed second place, while India Lee moved up to take third.
