Prince Ali Accuses FIFA President Infantino of Blackmail Over Prize Money

Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, the former vice-president of FIFA and current head of Jordan's football federation, has accused FIFA's leadership, led by Gianni Infantino, of blackmail. He claims that Jordan has not received prize money for reaching the final of the FIFA Arab Cup held last December in Qatar.

In a social media post, Prince Ali stated that he was told that endorsing Infantino during the World Cup would help the Jordanian Football Association. He emphasized that Jordan prides itself on ethical values and would not endorse Infantino, labeling the situation as blackmail.

The prize money for Jordan, which reached the final against Morocco, was reported to be $4.2 million. Prince Ali criticized FIFA for withholding the funds while boasting about its financial reserves. He noted that FIFA has been unresponsive to various requests for assistance from Jordan.
