Project Rally One Begins Testing for 2027 WRC Season

Project Rally One has initiated testing of its new car designed for the 2027 World Rally Championship, with plans to debut at the season opener in Monte Carlo.

The team, founded by motorsport engineer Lionel Hansen and former FIA rally director Yves Matton, aims to build and homologate a WRC27-specification vehicle. Recently, they completed a successful 300-kilometre test on a German circuit, utilizing a 1.6-litre Volkswagen Group engine.

Project Rally One intends to field two cars for half of the 2027 season and will conduct further tests on asphalt and gravel in the coming months. This testing follows RMC Motorsport's announcement of its goal to debut in Croatia next year, with both teams working towards their respective milestones in the new WRC technical regulations.
