Proposal for Pregame Happy Hour at Beaver Stadium
Penn State football fans are known for their enthusiastic tailgating, often arriving hours before games at Beaver Stadium. However, many do not make it into the stadium before kickoff.
Inspired by Tennessee's recent introduction of a Happy Hour at Neyland Stadium, which offers half-priced concessions for the first hour after gates open, there is a proposal for a similar initiative at Penn State. This promotion aims to encourage fans to enter the stadium earlier by providing incentives such as discounted food and drinks.
Currently, Penn State has attempted to streamline entry by allowing students to obtain wristbands in advance, but this has not resolved the long wait times. The proposed Happy Hour could enhance the game day experience by transitioning fans from tailgating to the stadium, potentially improving crowd retention and creating a more vibrant atmosphere during games.
