Providence Friars Secure Five-Star Recruit Lewis Uvwo
The Providence Friars have achieved a notable recruiting success by signing five-star center Lewis Uvwo, who has chosen Providence over other top programs like Kentucky and Baylor.
Standing at 6-foot-11 and weighing 225 pounds, Uvwo is recognized for his exceptional defensive skills, including an impressive average of 4.5 blocks per game during the EYBL. His athleticism and a remarkable 7-foot-6 wingspan contribute to his reputation as a dominant shot-blocker.
This commitment marks a significant moment for Providence, which has struggled to make an impact in recent NCAA tournaments, last participating in 2022-23. The Friars are now under the leadership of Bryan Hodgson, who previously led the USF Bulls to the NCAA Tournament and aims to revitalize the program.
