PSG vs Lyon Match Rescheduled Due to Paris Unrest
The Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon has been rescheduled to Monday at 8:30pm local time due to unrest in Paris. Originally set for Sunday at 8:45pm at the Parc des Princes, the change follows a police decree prohibiting the game on its initial date.
This rescheduling means the match will now coincide with the Ballon d'Or ceremony taking place in London. The French Professional Football League acknowledged the police's decision and adjusted the match timing accordingly.
In light of recent protests over the cost of living, Paris authorities are reallocating police resources, with around 70,000 security personnel deployed across France this weekend in anticipation of further unrest. Despite the changes for the PSG match, an NFL game featuring the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers will proceed as scheduled on Sunday.
