Puka Nacua Set to Play in Rams' Season Opener Against 49ers
Puka Nacua, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, is anticipated to play in the team's season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night, as confirmed by head coach Sean McVay.
Nacua has been dealing with psoas soreness, an injury he sustained during a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys in August. The Rams have been cautious with his training load since then. McVay indicated that Nacua has shown improvement and has been working with the team's vice president of sports medicine and performance.
In addition to his injury, Nacua is under review by the NFL for previous off-field behavior, but he has not faced any disciplinary action prior to the game. As he approaches free agency next spring, Nacua aims to build on his successful previous season, where he led the league with 129 receptions and achieved 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
