Qatar Confirms Plans for F1 and MotoGP Races Amid Regional Tensions

Qatar is moving forward with its preparations for the Formula 1 and MotoGP grands prix, asserting that the situation in the region has stabilized despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The Losail International Circuit and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) are actively preparing for these events, which are scheduled for late November. This comes after the cancellation of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) round earlier this year due to the geopolitical climate.

Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai, president of the QMMF, indicated that while the situation remains unpredictable, Qatar is committed to hosting these international sporting events. He emphasized that Qatar has been safe for several months and is fully operational, ready to welcome back major races.
