Quinn Ewers Traded to Jaguars for 2028 Draft Pick
Quinn Ewers, who was the starting quarterback for the Dolphins at the end of last season, has been traded to the Jaguars for a sixth-round draft pick in 2028. This decision was made after evaluating Ewers' performance during training camp and the preseason.
Dolphins General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan stated that the move was necessary as Ewers was not meeting performance expectations. Sullivan expressed his belief that both Ewers and the team needed a fresh start. Ewers had previously declined an $8 million NIL deal to remain in college, only to be selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft with a four-year, $4.3 million contract.
In Jacksonville, Ewers will serve as a backup to Trevor Lawrence, with hopes of proving himself if given the chance to play.
