Quinn Priester Recovering Well After Surgery, Expected for Spring Training
Quinn Priester, a right-handed pitcher for the Brewers, is currently sidelined during the postseason as he recuperates from thoracic outlet surgery performed in June. His recovery is expected to align with the shorter end of the eight to ten-month timeline, with indications that he will be ready for Spring Training.
The 26-year-old Priester had a notable season last year after joining the Brewers from the Red Sox, pitching 157 1/3 innings across 24 starts and five relief appearances. He achieved a 3.32 earned run average and a 20.2% strikeout rate, while also inducing ground balls at an impressive rate of 56.1%, ranking fifth among pitchers with at least 150 innings.
Priester's season was cut short due to thoracic outlet symptoms, which included wrist discomfort and a nerve issue. After a challenging rehab assignment, he underwent surgery on June 22, officially ending his season. As the Brewers prepare for the next season, Priester is projected to earn $1.3 million in his first arbitration cycle, contributing to a larger arbitration class that is estimated to total $59.1 million.
