Qwan’tez Stiggers Stretchered Off Field but Reported to Be Okay

Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was taken off the practice field on a stretcher but is reportedly doing well, according to coach Aaron Glenn.

During practice today, Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was stretchered off the field after collapsing following a play. Jets coach Aaron Glenn later indicated that Stiggers is expected to be fine.

Practice was halted for approximately 10 minutes as Stiggers received medical attention, including an IV. Glenn explained that Stiggers lost consciousness briefly but was conscious and able to communicate afterward. The medical staff responded promptly to ensure his safety.

Stiggers, 24, is entering his third season with the Jets. He has an unconventional background, having transitioned from high school football to the Fan Controlled Football league, and then to the Canadian Football League, where he was named the Most Outstanding Rookie in 2023. The Jets selected him in the 2024 NFL Draft, marking a significant achievement as he became the first player in 25 years to be drafted by the NFL after playing in the CFL.
