Rafa Benitez Reflects on Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa as Managers Ahead of Fulham vs Chelsea

Rafael Benitez, the former Liverpool manager, commented on his ex-players Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa as they prepare to meet in a managerial clash when Fulham hosts Chelsea. This match marks a significant moment nearly 20 years after Benitez first brought them together at Anfield.

Both Alonso and Arbeloa enjoyed successful careers, winning the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships with Spain, as well as domestic titles with Real Madrid. Benitez noted that while Arbeloa is familiar with the Premier League, his managerial experience is less extensive than Alonso's.

Benitez also reflected on the broader trend of his former players moving into management, expressing pride in their development.
