Rafael Camara Set to Join Haas F1 Team in 2027
Rafael Camara, the leader of the Formula 2 championship, is set to join the Haas F1 Team for the 2027 season, marking his debut in Formula 1. The 21-year-old Brazilian will take over the seat from Esteban Ocon, who is leaving the team after the 2026 season.
Camara has quickly ascended through the ranks, having won the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship and the 2025 F3 title. He currently leads the F2 standings, with a seven-point advantage over Nikola Tsolov, and could become the first driver to win FRECA, F3, and F2 consecutively.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu expressed enthusiasm about signing Camara, highlighting his impressive performance in junior formulas and during testing. The Haas team aims to provide a supportive environment for Camara to develop his skills as he transitions to Formula 1.
