Rahmat Shah Makes History as Afghanistan Test Captain
Rahmat Shah achieved a remarkable milestone on his debut as Afghanistan's Test captain by scoring a century against Bangladesh during a one-off Test at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Shah's innings of 105 runs made him the first Afghan player to score a century in his Test captaincy debut. He faced 216 balls, hitting 10 fours and 2 sixes. Despite his efforts, Afghanistan was bowled out for 240, trailing Bangladesh by 106 runs after the latter posted 346 runs in their first innings.
Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud made headlines by taking a hat-trick and finishing with five wickets, becoming the first fast bowler from Bangladesh to achieve this feat in Tests. His performance, along with Ebadot Hossain's four wickets, contributed significantly to Afghanistan's struggles in the match.
