Rahul Dravid Discusses Team India's WTC Final Prospects

Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of India, has expressed that the team still has a chance to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, although the path has become more challenging. Currently positioned fifth in the WTC points table, India must secure strong results in their remaining matches to reach the top two.

India is set to face New Zealand in an away series in October, following their ongoing series against Sri Lanka, where they lead 1-0 after winning the first Test by 165 runs. Dravid highlighted the importance of the Sri Lanka series as a crucial step, but acknowledged that significant work remains.

Dravid noted that the upcoming series against New Zealand will be particularly tough, especially for younger players who lack experience in those conditions. He also mentioned the absence of several senior players, which could impact the team's performance. Following the New Zealand series, India will host Australia in a five-Test series starting in January 2027.
