Raiders Anticipate Return of Caleb Rogers and Dont’e Thornton Before Houston Game
The Las Vegas Raiders are looking forward to the potential return of Caleb Rogers and Dont’e Thornton for their second preseason game against Houston on August 20th. Both players have been sidelined due to injuries sustained during recent practices.
Head coach Klint Kubiak indicated that while Rogers, an offensive lineman, and Thornton, a wide receiver, are expected to participate, not all injured players may be ready to play. Rogers is competing for the starting right guard position, and his absence could impact that battle. Thornton's injury has allowed rookie Malik Benson to gain more opportunities, with Kubiak noting Benson's strong performance and chemistry with rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Kubiak emphasized a cautious approach to the recovery of Rogers and Thornton, suggesting they will gradually return to full practice rather than being rushed back. Meanwhile, Benson's impressive training camp performance raises questions about his potential role in the team even after Thornton's return.
