Raiders' Ashton Jeanty Critiques Jets Defense Ahead of Matchup
The Las Vegas Raiders, currently on a four-game losing streak with a 3-4 record, are set to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday. Running back Ashton Jeanty shared his thoughts on the Jets' defense during a media session, suggesting that some defenders are hesitant to tackle, although he refrained from naming them.
The Jets, under head coach Aaron Glenn, have struggled this season with a 2-5 record and allow an average of 127.7 rushing yards per game, ranking ninth in the NFL for most yards given up on the ground. This presents an opportunity for Jeanty, who has faced challenges in the Raiders' rushing game, which ranks 31st in the league with an average of 74.7 yards per game over the last four outings.
Jeanty has recorded 328 rushing yards on 106 carries, averaging 3.1 yards per attempt, the lowest among running backs with that many attempts. In response to the team's struggles, head coach Klint Kubiak has made adjustments to the offensive line. Jeanty noted that he can improve the run game by being more decisive with the ball, as he leads all NFL running backs in receptions and receiving yards.
