Jeanty has been dealing with health issues, having admitted he is not at full strength. Despite being questionable for the previous game against the New England Patriots, he played but did not perform at his best. Reports indicated that the Raiders considered resting him for a week or two, but Jeanty opposed this idea.

Kubiak expressed optimism about Jeanty's physical condition improving and emphasized the need for better performance from both Jeanty and the offensive line to enhance the run game, which has struggled recently. The team has averaged only 2.5 yards per carry over the last two games.
