Raiders' Klint Kubiak Provides Update on Ashton Jeanty's Injury Status
Ashton Jeanty, a running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, suffered a sprained ankle during practice on August 22, raising concerns about his availability for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on September 13.
Head coach Klint Kubiak indicated that Jeanty is still recovering but has not ruled him out for the game. Kubiak mentioned that the team will continue to assess Jeanty's condition over the next week, expressing hope that he will be ready to play.
If Jeanty is unable to participate, rookie Mike Washington Jr. would step in as the next option on the depth chart. Washington performed well in the preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers, rushing for 49 yards on eight carries. Kubiak emphasized the importance of preparing both Jeanty and Washington for various roles during the game.
