Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty's Week 1 Status Uncertain Due to Ankle Injury

Ashton Jeanty, running back for the Raiders, is facing uncertainty regarding his availability for Week 1 due to an ankle sprain sustained during practice this week. Head Coach Klint Kubiak indicated that the team is still evaluating Jeanty’s condition but expressed optimism about his potential return.

Reports suggest that Jeanty’s injury is classified as more low than high, and while it is not deemed major, it is significant enough to potentially affect his participation in the season opener. Jeanty, who is 22 years old, previously played three seasons at Boise State, where he was a two-year starter and finished second in the Heisman Trophy race in 2024.

The Raiders selected Jeanty with the sixth overall pick and he signed a four-year contract worth over $35 million, which includes a substantial signing bonus. In the previous season, he played 17 games, starting all of them, and recorded 975 rushing yards along with five touchdowns.
