Raiders Sign Dare Ogunbowale as Backup Running Back
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed veteran running back Dare Ogunbowale to serve as a backup for second-year player Ashton Jeanty.
This signing, reported by ESPN, comes as the Raiders look to address the need for depth in their backfield. Ogunbowale, who spent the last four seasons with the Houston Texans, recorded 11 carries for 25 yards and one touchdown in the 2025 season, along with 10 receptions for 76 yards.
Ogunbowale's experience dates back to his rookie year in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he caught 35 passes for 286 yards. His ability to pass protect and contribute on third downs makes him a suitable complement to Jeanty, who is expected to dominate touches. The Raiders also have Mike Washington Jr. and Dylan Laube on their roster, setting the stage for competition during training camp for the backup role.
