Raiders Sign Defensive Tackle Foley Fatukasi After Preseason Struggles

The Las Vegas Raiders have bolstered their defensive line by signing veteran defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi shortly after their first preseason game, which highlighted significant weaknesses in that area.

In their loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Raiders struggled to maintain pressure on the quarterback, allowing Arizona's passers to complete 16 consecutive passes. This performance raised concerns about the depth of the interior defensive line, particularly with Maxx Crosby not participating in the game.

Fatukasi, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 320 pounds, has a solid track record as a nose tackle, having recorded 7 sacks and 195 tackles throughout his career. He previously played for the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets. While his addition may impact the development of younger players on the roster, the Raiders felt the need for experienced depth was critical.
