Rajah Caruth's Mixed Emotions at Daytona
Rajah Caruth competed at Daytona on Friday night, aiming to qualify for the 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase. He needed to gain at least 15 points to improve his chances for the championship.
Caruth began the race positively by achieving pole position and accumulating 18 out of a possible 20 stage points. However, his fortunes changed dramatically with three laps remaining when he lost control after a push from teammate Justin Allgaier, resulting in a crash that left him with a 32nd-place finish. Despite this setback, Caruth qualified for the Chase by a narrow margin of five points.
After the race, Caruth expressed disappointment over the crash but acknowledged the strong performance of his team, JR Motorsports. He noted that while he was frustrated with the outcome, he was grateful to have made it into the Chase and looked forward to future races.
