Rams Coach Updates on Aaron Donald's Potential Return

In early August, speculation suggested that Aaron Donald might return from retirement to play for the Los Angeles Rams in their season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. However, recent reports indicate that he may not participate in Week 1, and Rams head coach Sean McVay remains uncertain about Donald's status for the season.

During a press conference, McVay mentioned that the Rams are preparing two versions of their final 53-man roster: one including Donald and one without him. He noted that the team is considering their options based on whether Donald decides to return to play.

McVay indicated that Donald could engage in additional workouts before making a final decision. The deadline for the initial roster is set for this Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. It appears increasingly likely that Donald may not play until at least the Rams' Week 2 game against the New York Giants on September 21, or he may choose to remain retired altogether.
