Rams Reacquire Tutu Atwell from Dolphins in Trade for Jarquez Hunter
The Los Angeles Rams have traded running back Jarquez Hunter to the Miami Dolphins to reacquire wide receiver Tutu Atwell, who previously spent five seasons with the Rams. The trade was announced on Thursday.
Atwell, a second-round pick in 2021, had a productive stint with the Rams from 2022 to 2024, recording 99 receptions for 1,343 yards and four touchdowns. However, his role diminished last season, resulting in only six catches for 192 yards and one touchdown. The Rams are looking to bolster their receiving corps, particularly behind starters Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Hunter, a fourth-round selection in 2025, struggled to find playing time due to the presence of other running backs on the roster. The Rams will assume $1.075 million of Atwell's contract for the current season, a significant reduction from his previous salary.
