Rams to Hold Workout for Veteran Kickers McManus and Prater
The Los Angeles Rams will hold a workout for veteran kickers Brandon McManus and Matt Prater on Tuesday.
This decision comes after Blake Grupe was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained during a recent game against the Cardinals. Grupe had just made his debut with the Rams, while Harrison Mevis, the team's initial kicker, was released earlier in the season after missing a field goal and having another blocked.
McManus has played 25 games for the Packers over the last two seasons, successfully completing 44 of 51 field goal attempts. He was with the Jaguars in 2023 and previously spent nine seasons with the Broncos. Prater, who has 19 years of experience in the league, was the kicker for Buffalo, finishing the regular season with 18 successful field goals out of 20 attempts, including a record-setting 82nd field goal from over 50 yards.
