Rangers Sign Luke Glendening to PTO Following Injury to Joe Veleno
The New York Rangers have added veteran center Luke Glendening to their roster through a professional tryout agreement, following the long-term injury of fourth-line center Joe Veleno.
Veleno is expected to be sidelined for three to three-and-a-half months due to a lower-body injury. Glendening, 37, has experience playing for the Devils and Flyers last season, where he recorded two goals and seven assists in 70 games.
Glendening has over 930 games of NHL experience, having previously played for the Red Wings, Dallas, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a mid-season PTO lasts a maximum of 10 days, during which players cannot participate in games.
