Rangers Sign Trevor Williams to Major League Contract

The Texas Rangers have signed veteran pitcher Trevor Williams to a major league contract, as announced on Tuesday. This move comes after Williams was released by the Washington Nationals earlier in the week.

The Rangers had an available spot on their 40-man roster, coinciding with the expansion of rosters to 28 players. As part of this transaction, Texas also recalled Cam Cauley from Triple-A Round Rock.

Williams was previously in the second year of a two-year, $14 million deal with the Nationals, who will continue to cover most of his salary. The Rangers will only be responsible for the prorated league minimum for his time on the major league roster.
