Ranji Trophy: Khare's Resilience Keeps Chhattisgarh Competitive Against Punjab
Amandeep Khare played a crucial role in keeping Chhattisgarh in contention during their Ranji Trophy match against Punjab at the New PCA Stadium. On the third day of the second-round fixture, Khare scored 37 runs off 89 balls, helping his team reach 123 for three after being asked to follow-on.
Chhattisgarh faced a challenging situation after a top-order collapse, but Khare formed a vital partnership with Ayush Pandey, who scored 59 runs. The duo added 74 runs for the fourth wicket, stabilizing the innings after early setbacks. Despite a breakthrough from Punjab's Harjas Tandon, who initially dismissed Pandey, a third-umpire review revealed a no-ball, allowing Pandey to continue his innings.
In the first innings, Khare had contributed significantly with a score of 91 runs. Punjab had set a formidable target with a total of 456 runs in their first innings, with notable performances from Uday Saharan and Salil Arora. Chhattisgarh's bowling attack was led by Dharmendra, who took seven wickets.
