Raul Fernandez Claims Victory at British GP, Jorge Martin Extends Points Lead
Raul Fernandez achieved a dominant victory at the British Grand Prix, marking his first win of the 2026 MotoGP season. The race took place at Silverstone, where Fernandez led from the start and maintained his position throughout the event.
After crashing during Saturday's sprint, Fernandez quickly redeemed himself by taking the lead at Turn 1, following a poor start from polesitter Jorge Martin. Fernandez built a significant lead, finishing 4.5 seconds ahead of Martin, who managed to secure second place and extend his championship lead to 31 points. Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium after fending off challenges from Alex Marquez.
The race saw only 16 of the 23 riders finish, with notable retirements including Ai Ogura and Francesco Bagnaia. Ogura's crash on lap nine marked his first major mistake of the season, dropping him to third in the standings behind Bezzecchi.
