Raul Fernandez Secures Pole Position for Indonesian Grand Prix
Raul Fernandez is set to begin the Indonesian Grand Prix from pole position, having achieved this during Saturday's qualifying for the 2026 MotoGP season's 17th round.
His participation in the race is contingent on his physical condition, as he sustained a finger injury in a collision with Marco Bezzecchi during the sprint. Fernandez will evaluate his fitness in the Sunday morning warm-up before making a decision on racing.
If he competes, he will be joined on the front row by Bezzecchi and Fabio di Giannantonio, who is starting in his best position since Germany. Marc Marquez, the current championship leader, will start fourth, followed by Jorge Martin. The second row will feature Fermin Aldeguer, while Ai Ogura will start seventh, ahead of Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta. The top ten will conclude with Francesco Bagnaia, and Fabio Quartararo will be the highest-placed Yamaha in 12th.
