Raul Jimenez to Miss Black Country Derby Due to Knee Injury
Raul Jimenez, the striker for Wolves, will miss the Black Country derby against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday after suffering a knee injury during a match against Everton.
Jimenez was substituted seven minutes before halftime in Wolves' 1-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto indicated that while the injury is not severe, Jimenez is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. The upcoming international break may provide an opportunity for recovery.
Since returning to Wolves from Fulham, Jimenez has scored three goals, including a late winner against Sheffield United. He has yet to play in a Black Country derby, having missed previous matches due to a serious injury. Wolves have not won a home league derby against Albion since May 2011 and currently trail them by three points in the standings.
