Raul Jimenez to Undergo Knee Surgery, Out Until January
Raul Jimenez, the veteran striker for Wolves, is set to undergo knee surgery this week, which will keep him out of action until January. The 35-year-old Mexico international has been struggling with a medial collateral ligament injury sustained during a Carabao Cup match against Everton on September 16.
Jimenez was substituted in that match and has not shown the expected improvement from treatment over the past month. Wolves' director of performance, Phil Hayward, noted that the injury has not healed as anticipated, prompting the decision for surgery on Friday in London. Following the operation, Jimenez will require approximately three months of rehabilitation.
In contrast, there is positive news regarding three other injured Wolves players. Rodrigo Gomes is recovering from an ankle injury, Bertrand Traore is dealing with a minor hamstring issue, and Boubacar Traore is making progress from a calf problem. Wolves currently sit ninth in the Championship table and will face Burnley on Friday.
