Raven Chapman Hospitalized After Brain Bleed from Sparring Session
British boxer Raven Chapman was airlifted to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma after experiencing a brain bleed during a sparring session in Denmark on July 24.
The 32-year-old, who turned professional in 2021, collapsed following training and was diagnosed with a brain haematoma and cerebral oedema. Emergency surgery was performed to stop the bleeding and reduce swelling.
Chapman's management company, Vote Boxing, reported that she has been taken off sedatives and is receiving ongoing treatment while awaiting transfer to a UK hospital for rehabilitation. Her family is with her in Denmark, and a GoFundMe page has been established to assist with expenses. Supportive messages have come from the boxing community, including former promoter Frank Warren.
