Ravens Sign Running Back Jonathan Ward
The Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of running back Jonathan Ward on Sunday. This move comes after the team had an open roster spot due to the retirement of offensive tackle Kendall Lamm.
Ward's addition addresses the team's need for depth at the running back position, particularly with Rasheen Ali sidelined by an undisclosed injury. In the Ravens' first preseason game, only Adam Randall, Elijah Tau-Toliver, and Dontae McMillan were available as running backs.
Ward, 28, initially joined the Ravens' practice squad on December 2 but did not see game action. He entered the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals and has also been part of the rosters for the Jets, Titans, Steelers, Giants, and Patriots. Throughout his career, he has played in 46 regular-season games, accumulating 91 rushing yards on 22 carries, alongside six receptions for 52 yards and one touchdown.
