Rays Face Offseason Decision on Ace Drew Rasmussen

As the offseason approaches, the Rays will likely receive inquiries about their ace, Drew Rasmussen, who is in the second year of a two-year, $8.5 million contract. This deal includes a club option for 2027, which has escalators based on his health and performance.

Rasmussen, 31, has avoided injuries for the past two seasons and has made 26 starts this year, accumulating 146 1/3 innings. His option price has already increased to $17 million due to his performance, and it could rise to $20 million if he remains healthy through September.
