Rays Set to Activate Manuel Rodríguez from Injured List
The Tampa Bay Rays are preparing to activate reliever Manuel Rodríguez from the 60-day injured list for their upcoming series against the Baltimore Orioles this weekend.
Rodríguez is returning after undergoing elbow surgery last July. He had established himself as a significant setup man in 2025, pitching 68 innings with a 2.12 ERA and achieving 21 holds without a blown lead during his first two seasons with the team.
Since the All-Star Break, the Rays' bullpen has performed at a league-average level, ranking in the middle third for ERA and strikeout rate. With the addition of Rodríguez, the team aims to strengthen their relief options, particularly in the middle innings, as they continue to rely on Bryan Baker as their closer and Kevin Kelly's breakout performance.
