Rece Hinds Re-Signs with Orioles for One Year

The Baltimore Orioles have confirmed the re-signing of outfielder Rece Hinds to a one-year Major League contract. This announcement was made on October 30, 2026, and reported by Andy Kostka from the Baltimore Banner.

Hinds' new contract includes a salary that exceeds the upcoming MLB minimum by $4,700, which will be determined once the next collective bargaining agreement is finalized. Originally acquired from the Marlins in August, Hinds was already under team control for the 2027 season and beyond. This deal ensures his spot on the 40-man roster.

Hinds, a second-round draft pick by the Reds in 2019, has had a challenging MLB career thus far, with a batting average of .171 over 166 plate appearances. Despite his struggles at the major league level, he has performed better in Triple-A, hitting .258 with 53 home runs across 1,183 plate appearances. At 26 years old, he still has potential for development as a depth player for the Orioles.
