In a notable development for the NFL, running backs Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, and Jonathan Taylor recently secured contract extensions exceeding $20 million annually, challenging the long-held perception of the position's dispensability.

Gibbs signed a three-year deal worth $67.5 million with the Detroit Lions, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, shortly after Robinson's three-year, $66.75 million agreement with the Atlanta Falcons.
