Red Bull Appoints Tom McCullough as Head of Racing Starting 2027

Red Bull Racing has announced the hiring of Tom McCullough as their head of racing, effective from 2027. McCullough, who previously served as the performance director at Aston Martin, will take over from Gianpiero Lambiase, who is set to join McLaren as their chief racing officer by 2028.

The 50-year-old Briton has over a decade of experience with Aston Martin, including its earlier identities as Force India and Racing Point. Prior to his tenure at Aston Martin, he worked with teams such as Williams and Sauber. Following a restructuring in January 2025, McCullough transitioned from the F1 race team to the performance technologies division.

In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the race team under team principal Laurent Mekies. It is uncertain if McCullough's appointment will facilitate an earlier departure for Lambiase, who is known for his close working relationship with driver Max Verstappen.
