Red Bull Focuses on Low-Speed Performance and Bump Handling Ahead of US Grand Prix
Max Verstappen completed the practice sessions for the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, finishing in second and third place. He was close to Charles Leclerc's times, indicating a competitive start for Red Bull.
Despite not dominating the field as in previous races, Verstappen expressed satisfaction with the initial performance of the RB22. He noted the challenges posed by the track's layout, particularly in balancing low and high-speed corners, and acknowledged the difficulties presented by the track's bumps.
Technical director Pierre Waché emphasized that Red Bull's main focus is on improving low-speed performance and handling over the bumpy sections of the track. The team aims to enhance the car's balance and adaptability to the challenging conditions ahead of qualifying.
