Red Bulls Target Mexican Midfielder Brian Gutierrez

Red Bull New York is actively seeking to acquire attacking midfielder Brian Gutierrez from Liga MX team Chivas de Guadalajara. The 23-year-old player was part of Mexico's World Cup squad this summer, where he made four appearances, including two starts, before the team was eliminated in the Round of 16 by England.

Gutierrez joined Chivas last December after his tenure with the Chicago Fire, where he played in 24 matches, scoring two goals and providing one assist. The current status of negotiations between the Red Bulls and Gutierrez remains unclear.

Julian de Guzman, head of sport for Red Bull New York, emphasized the club's strategy of making intelligent player acquisitions to fit their desired style of play. The Red Bulls have previously signed players from Chivas and are looking for individuals who can integrate well with their existing roster.
