Red Sox Consider Moving On from Triston Casas After Injury Setbacks

The Boston Red Sox are evaluating their options regarding first baseman Triston Casas after he underwent wrist surgery, marking another setback in his injury-plagued career. Casas, once viewed as a key player for the future, has struggled with injuries since 2022, including shoulder inflammation and a fractured rib. His most recent injury, a ruptured patellar tendon, has kept him off the field since May 2025. In contrast, the Red Sox have acquired Willson Contreras, who is enjoying a standout season with 23 home runs and is under contract through 2027.
